Operate Scissor Lift

REGISTER FOR OPERATE SCISSOR LIFT

This Operate Scissor Lift course will equip trainees with basic skills, knowledge and attitudes to this MEWP(Mobile Elevated Work Platform) safely via the following modules:

  • Prepare to carry out scissor lift operations

  • Carry out scissor lift operations

  • Conduct post-operation of scissor lifts

What you will learn in this course:

  • Types of hazards
  • Factors affecting stability
  • Factors for selection appropriate machine
  • Fundamentals of pre-use
  • Main components
  • Safe working load 
  • Safety devices, signage, labels and controls
  • Legislations and industry guidelines relating to operations
  • Types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Operational procedures relating to operations
  • Safe work practices for operations
  • Modes of maneuvering
  • Standard operating procedures for post-operation
  • Routine post-operation checks
  • Reporting procedures for damage and defects

When working from a scissors type MEWP, it is strongly recommended that a full body harness with an adjustable lanyard be used to provide work restraint, the lanyard should be adjusted to be as short as possible and may contain an energy absorbing device.

Duration

  • 9.25 hours 8:30am to 6:45pm
    (includes theory, practical and assessment)

Languages

  • English, Mandarin, Malay, Tamil

Course fee

  • $250 (before funding and GST)

Certificate Validity

  • 5 years

The course is 1 day only and 9.25 hours including certification exam

Course fee is $250 before GST

There is also funding available for Singaporeans

Validity: 5 years.
 
After 5 years, participants must retake the 1 day course again.
 
In between the 5 year renewal, we recommend operators to attend our yearly short refresher course.

Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

• Have a basic knowledge of the relevant sector of work
• Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 3
• Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3
• Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3; and
• Be medically fit to work at height

Target Audience: New and Existing MEWP Operators from any industry

  • Attire
    • Long pants
    • Safety boots

    Note: Learners must be in proper attire for practical assessment

  • Personal Protective Equipment (provided)

    • Safety helmet

    • Safety harness
